On May 2nd 2008, Cyclone Nargis made landfall in the Irrawaddy Delta of Burma, causing catastrophic devastation, with an estimated death toll of at least 100,000 people and widespread destruction of homes, rice-paddy fields and water supplies.

‘ Helping The Burmese Delta ’ is a charity set up in response to this emergency. The founders May Tha-Hla and Jon Wilkinson pay all the charity’s running costs so all donations are used entirely to help rebuild the lives and homes of people who were devastated by the cyclone.

We are developing this site so that we can bring you details of how we are helping people in the Burmese Delta, and how you can make a donation to support our efforts.

The site is still work in progress, bear with us while we finish it!
